Born on 13th of February, 1962 in Vienna to a family of multidisciplinary artists. My grandmother Prof. Berta Strubreiter-Jarosch and my mother Uta Jarosch were academic painters. My grandfather Prof. Jorg Jarosch was an architect and stage designer, who helped rebuild Vienna after WW2. My aunt, professor and magister in art, Elke Jarosch, was a stage designer and teacher at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. My artistic practice spans painting, mural work, and handcrafted objects. I work primarily with oil on canvas, alongside mineral and architectural materials, particularly in murals and mosaics. My work evolves through the relationship between image, space, and material.
I explore themes of memory, transition, and quiet presence. Landscapes, figures, and ornamental elements function as inner spaces rather than literal depictions—fragments reflecting lived experience, personal phases, and emotional states. Many works arise from the processing of personal events and transformations.
My process is slow and layered, allowing traces of time and labor to remain visible. I am interested in the tension between permanence and transience, stillness and movement, and in transforming what time has left us into a renewed form and aesthetic.
Alongside studio work and creating site-specific and commissioned projects, I understanding art as a dialogue shaped by time, place, material, and those who engage with it.
In my paintings, I work with parables and emotional interpretations of lived experience, seeking an aesthetic language that balances depth and lightness.
